…the physiology of your body responds to the vibrations of your emotions.
 What does that mean? Well, basically when you radiate joy, happiness, gratitude, appreciation, calmness or love, your chemicals/hormones (essentially the instructions from your brain) are expansive + opening. Your very cells actually respond to your high positive emotions + you experience pleasant sensations throughout your entire being…you are relaxed, your mind is clearer + your heart is more open.

…I am exhausted, covered in sweat and dirt and hair, oh and speaking of hair mine looks like I’ve just rolled out of bed. If my family were here they’d tell me to go take a shower as I’m pretty sure the potent blend of horse poop, sweat and soiled stable shavings smell wouldn’t be very pleasant for them. My back is sore and my legs are aching. I may also have some mild sun stroke…and all that aside, I’ve never felt happier. My heart is full and I feel accomplished. Like I totally won at life today. Yes, this work can be physically tough, so what exactly is it about horses that draws me to them? I ask myself that question all the time….

Research shows that when we meet the biological needs, safety, + social needs of social animals, they are far less likely to display abnormal or stereotypic behaviours. We can achieve this by providing environments that focus on the horses physical + behavioural needs. The sad truth is that the equine industry as a whole has some very old + out dated belief patterns that really require some shaking up, some reevaluation + a different trajectory for the future.
